From the 6th to the 19th of February 2023 Méribel and Courchevel welcome athletes from over 70 countries who are all setting their sights on one of the 54 medals on offer during the World Ski Championships 2023.
Described as one of the most important sporting events in the world of Alpine skiing, this is an occasion to see the Méribel and Courchevel slopes like never before. This is the first time a joint bid has won the host contract and the locations are working closely to ensure a seamless yet dynamic programme, with works undertaken to ensure excellent slope quality and facilities for both competitors and spectators.
Six disciplines play out across 12 days of competition on some of the world’s most famous slopes, and facilities which hosted the Winter Olympics of 1992. And this year's Championship is delivering just as much exhilarating action and sportsmanship as its counterpart, with speeds easily exceeding 100km/hr
Female competitors will take to the 2.5 km Roc de Fer slope in Méribel which has been remodelled for the occasion and is bound to impress on the speed, fluidity and setting.
Whilst male competitors battle on the new Eclipse slope in Courchevel. Designed to be the biggest piste on the men’s World Cup circuit, Eclipse is 3,200 km with an average gradient of 30% providing a great mix of obstacles to test technique, skill and talent.
And don’t forget to look out for Toya, the official Mascot of the event, a chamois goat whose name means victory – a fitting name if ever there was.
