Managing Expectations In Monaco Real Estate

At Savills Monaco, one of our tasks when meeting clients new to Monaco, is to manage their expectations as regards what they can expect to rent or buy here.

The Principality is the most expensive place to rent or buy in the world and it is not unreasonable to suppose therefore that there will be an array of sophisticated, refurbished apartments for any client to choose from.  When we opened here for business 10 years ago, providing a world-class selection of options for a client, was often challenging. Luckily, this has changed and continues to change. There has been  a range of new buildings of course- the Odeon Tower, Le Stella, 26 Carré d’Or,  the very recent Palais de la Plage…. The list goes on. Not to mention the amazing Mareterra project which completes end 2024 and which will create a stunning new area of Monaco, much as Fontvieille did years ago.

Whilst residents have had to live with the accompanying noise and nuisance of all this construction, it is exciting to see Monaco evolve and exciting for us, as  agents, to have property to offer for sale or rent which can hold its own amongst other global destinations.

Leaving aside new builds too, the last 10 years have seen owners and developers look to revitalise their properties in older buildings: we are seeing more and more renovated apartments, refurbished to the highest standards.

Monaco’s property offering will continue to advance- and no doubt prices with it too!
