The changing role of the residential concierge

The services offered by residential concierges have changed a great deal over recent years. They can vary between developments and while some primarily provide a security function, others offer a real hands-on approach.

Sometimes badged as a Lifestyle Manager, the nouveau concierge can be heavily involved in the smooth running of the building to make sure that residents have what they need, when they need it.

A good concierge will be the friendly face welcoming you home but more than a receptionist they can help with the seamless organising of your day-to-day chores. From taking in parcels to restaurant or theatre bookings, these days the role of the concierge equals anything you’d find in a top hotel.

Whether it’s booking out the inhouse facilities for you or making sure there’s milk in the fridge when you return from a trip, the role of the residential concierge has changed significantly over time. Ultimately, they are there to make residents' lives easier.

In celebration of New Homes Week, here is a selection of some examples of new homes that all have their own concierge.
