Savills Slalom 2019

Savills French Alps kicked the New Year off in style by welcoming clients, guests and colleagues to take part in the second annual Savills Giant Slalom on January 3rd 2019 in the Stade de Mottaret, Méribel.

Held in partnership with the Ecole de Ski Française (ESF) this was a fantastic opportunity to meet many new clients and regular Méribel visitors and for the previous winners to defend their title!

Starting with a dramatic torch lit descent of the Mottaret slope led by the Ecole de Ski instructors the stage was truly set for 30 keen competitors who braved the cold with temperatures of minus 15 degrees being recorded! The event was won by a client who completed the course in just 31.08 seconds, creating a new record for the Savills slalom at 5.28 seconds faster than the winning time of 2018. Skiing genes would seem to run in the family as the same family scooped the prizes from 1st to 5th place, however all were keen to congratulate the strong competition who put up an excellent effort as did the loyal supporters who turned out despite the weather.

Followed by a reception within the warmth of the Hotel L’Eterlou not only was there a chance to soak up the incredible atmosphere of Méribel après-ski, but an excellent opportunity for networking, where the Savills team met clients with strong connections to the area and owners within the Méribel and the wider French Network.

Proving a great success, this second edition of the Savills Slalom race is definitely a tradition we look forward to keeping as a moment to welcome clients, colleagues and visitors alike and share our passion for the Ski lifestyle and locations we cover.

If you are looking to buy, sell or rent within Méribel, Courchevel and the wider French Alps, please do not hesitate to contact the team for further information, we would be delighted to assist you. (frenchalps@savills.com)
