Green Park and Arquiparque II buildings obtain BREEAM In-Use certification

Both assets achieved a ‘Very Good’ rating in a process assisted by Savills ESG & Sustainability team

The Arquiparque II and Green Park office buildings, owned by INCUS Capital, have just obtained BREEAM In-Use certification, both with a ‘Very Good’ rating, in a process assisted by Savills ESG & Sustainability team, in collaboration with the consultancy’s BPC & Architecture and Property Management teams.

The paradigm shift in the real estate sector, which largely translates into decarbonisation and the rehabilitation of existing urban infrastructures, is a factor that has driven the growth of so-called ‘green certifications’, which are already seen as essential by investors and building owners.

In line with the latest sustainability standards governing the sector, such as the requirement for carbon-neutral buildings by 2050 and the integration of green energy solutions from 2030, the Savills team was responsible for drawing up the consultancy project for the two buildings, with the aim of improving their facilities. This process culminated in obtaining BREEAM In-Use Part 1 certification, which relates to the performance of the asset itself.

INCUS Capital: “We are extremely pleased with the BREEAM In-Use ‘Very Good’ certification of the Arquiparque II and Green Park buildings. This certification is a reflection of our ongoing commitment to sustainability and the responsible management of our assets. We would like to thank Savills for their support and expertise in implementing best practice, which was crucial in achieving this milestone. We will continue to work on the continuous improvement of our assets, aligning ourselves with the most demanding standards in the sector and contributing to a more sustainable future.”

Nuno Fideles, Head of Sustainability at Savills Portugal, stresses: “Securing BREEAM In-Use certification with a ‘Very Good’ rating for both buildings is a testament to INCUS Capital’s dedication to sustainable practices and standards, which have now become an integral part of the property sector, with ‘green certifications’ holding a prominent position. Portugal still has some way to go in this respect, as the proportion of assets with this accreditation remains relatively low. This accomplishment fills Savills with great pride, as it clearly demonstrates the expertise of the various departments involved in supporting the client and tenants of the assessed buildings.”
