Avignon Capital sells Staybridge Suites Hotel in The Hague, the Netherlands

Avignon Capital has sold the ‘Staybridge Suites the Hague Parliament’ hotel in The Hague, the Netherlands.

The hotel is situated on a prominent site at 10/11 Lange Vijverberg and has been bought by an international private investment vehicle.

The historic building, which was converted from an office into a hotel in 2018, spans approximately 6,500 sq m across six levels. The hotel is operated by Borealis Group and features 101 spacious rooms, each equipped with a fully furnished kitchen and ranging in size from 25 sq m to 40 sq m. It offers a range of facilities including a gym, a lounge, meeting rooms, a laundry room and a restaurant. It also features 37 underground parking spaces.

Ruben Schuuring, Associate Director Hotel Investment at Savills in the Netherlands, says: “Partly due to rising interest rates and geopolitical events, the overall real estate market is facing challenging times. Nevertheless, interest in long-term leased hotel properties remains strong among both domestic and international investors. In addition to Amsterdam and Rotterdam, we are observing growing interest from buyers in The Hague.”

Savills commercially advised the seller during the transaction. The process was legally assisted by Loyens & Loeff (seller) and Van Campen Liem (buyer). Technical advice was provided by INEXS Projectmanagement.
