Montea acquires logistics site at business park Beatrixhaven Maastricht, the Netherlands

Montea, a leading developer and investor in logistics real estate, has acquired a high-quality logistics site at business park Beatrixhaven in Maastricht, the Netherlands, through a sale-and-leaseback deal. The vendor, recycling company Rubber Resources, has signed a long-term lease with Montea.

The site at Schoenerweg 36 comprises c.16,000 sq m and is easily accessible via highways A2 and A79 with good transport links within the Netherlands and to Belgium and Germany. Additionally, business park Beatrixhaven features an inland shipping terminal providing access to the Juliana Canal and the Maas, as well as a rail yard facilitating loading and unloading of rail transport. The property also has a robust grid connection, which is advantageous given the current national shortages and lengthy grid operator waiting lists.

Marc Albinus, Associate Logistics & Industrial at Savills in the Netherlands, says: "The acquisition through a sale-and-leaseback arrangement aligns perfectly with developer and investor Montea Netherlands, considering the site's long-term redevelopment potential. We would like to extend our gratitude to all parties involved in the sales process.”

Montea Netherlands was commercially advised by Savills. Law firm Hemwood assisted Montea Netherlands in the due diligence process. Seller is advised by Rocket Real Estate.
