The site comprising nine buildings was assembled via multiple acquisitions and the 18 storey scheme has now been submitted for planning. Branded as NXQ, the prime office accommodation will be designed to both a contemporary and sustainable specification. Features will include a multi-purpose communal reception, a tech hub that will provide touch down space for occupants of the building and a restaurant unit, which will be located on the corner of Great Ancoats and Lever Street.
A considerable amount of the original façade is set to be retained, with a new cantilevered structure due to be constructed. Following approval, and once on site, the building is due to be completed by 2027/2028.
Nick Treadaway, founding partner and CEO of Soller Group, comments: “We are very excited to have submitted a planning application for the NXQ scheme, which has been in the works for a number of years. Prime office stock in Manchester remains in short supply and upon completion this will provide highly sustainable, excellent quality accommodation that will appeal to occupiers ongoing flight to quality who seek environmental excellence.”
