Savills moves to new Brighton office

Savills Brighton has moved to a new office at Runway East, York & Elder Works.

The firm first opened an office in Brighton in 2019 and over the last four years has continued to increase its presence in the city, outgrowing its previous office space.

The team of 15 provides a comprehensive range of planning and development consultancy services as well as development agency, viability advice, residential development sales consultancy and a site agency service. The firm also has a specialist team dealing with Nationally Significant Infrastructure Projects (NSIPs) via the Development Consent Order process as well as environmental, health, air quality and noise impact assessments.

The new office at Runway East (York & Elder Works, 50 New England Street, Brighton), is just a short walk from Brighton train station. It sits on the ground floor of L&G’s flagship 18 storey York & Elder PRS scheme which Savills Planning gained planning permission for in December 2019. This wider scheme comprises 201 residential units as well as the ground floor offices.

Aside from the York & Elder scheme, Savills Planning has achieved a number of notable successes since opening an office in Brighton. These include gaining planning permission for the City Council/Hyde Housing’s joint venture schemes at Coldean Lane (242 affordable homes) and Wellington Road, Portslade (104 affordable homes), planning permission and listed building consent for the conversion of the former Blind Veterans UK home at St Dunstans, Ovingdean (64 apartments) and planning permission for the Moulsecoomb Community Hub and Housing scheme (212 affordable homes).

Guy Dixon, head of office at Savills Brighton, says: We are pleased to have moved into our smart new office and thrilled that our recent successes have meant that we have grown the local team and added specialist skills. We are now very well placed to continue to build on our existing presence in this thriving city and would be pleased to discuss any project which requires planning or development advice.”

Jonathan Steele, Savills head of regional business development in the south, says: “It is a testament to the strength of our Brighton team that after four years we have outgrown our original office space and have moved into the York & Elder building. We look forward to delivering more exciting, innovative work in the city.”
