In the latest instalment of our Meet Our Expert series, Louise Harrison, a specialist in high-value land, farms, estates and equestrian properties, discusses the diversity of her role and why it’s the right one for her.
Louise lives a life of contrast—a farmer’s daughter working in the beating heart of London. Luckily for her, however, this doesn’t mean being in an office five days a week. Her work takes her across the breadth and depth of the country, visiting extraordinary landscapes and a diverse range of clientele.
“While I’m based in the head office, my weeks vary enormously,” says Louise. “I could be travelling to Wiltshire to value a sporting estate, overseeing the sensitive sale of a farm which has been in the family for generations, or meeting clients in London to discuss their equestrian property needs.”
Louise’s background gives her a strong affinity to the world of rural properties. She grew up on her family's farm in Warwickshire, home to Shakespeare, rolling hills and ancient woodlands. It’s no wonder she’s so suited to her current role—she really understands the needs of her clients and their attraction to rural living.
“I spent a lot of my childhood and teenage years with horses, so when it came to choosing a profession I knew early on that I wanted to work in the countryside,” says Louise. “This role is perfect, allowing me to combine all my interests.”
Throughout her career, Louise has been involved in some of the highest value estate sales and worked with clients from all over the world. With a variety of needs from diverse clientele, Louise knows the importance of the role she plays—and it’s not a position she takes lightly. People trust her to give honest, expert advice to make the best property decisions and, for her, that’s a pleasure and privilege.
“My aim is to ensure all are given the best possible advice and that the process—be it a sale or purchase—is as seamless as possible.”
