There are around 2,300 garden centres in the UK and financial performance of the UK garden centre market has been increasingly positive over the last six years. Gardening expenditure still grew in 2020 despite the onset of the pandemic. Online garden centre sales saw a significant pandemic related up-tick in performance over the last eighteen months and sites and brands are taking advantage of experience leisure and competitive socialising trends to increase dwell times on site. Most garden centres now have a restaurant/café offering for its customers as well as a wider range of home and garden equipment.
