Summer-ready properties in the Alps

Many families will have chosen to take their summer holidays domestically this year.

This will suit the Swiss just fine, who will be dusting down their camper vans and looking forward to a gentle amble over an Alpine pass to arrive perhaps at a campsite along picturesque Lake Lucerne. And while Europe's 26 Schengen countries opened up their borders in mid-June, many Europeans will have similar ideas for their own staycations.

Summer in the Alps is just as popular as in the winter, even more so in some resorts. Many hotels and restaurants have now re-opened and festivals are taking place, such as the E-Bike festival in Verbier (13-16 August).

Here are some of the best properties for sale or to rent in the Alps, each one perfect for the summer.
