Properties with outdoor kitchens have been growing increasingly popular in recent years and with restaurants still closed but lockdown measures easing to allow us to host a limited number of people in our own gardens, barbeques, outdoor pizza ovens and kitchen prep areas are really proving their worth this summer.
Even here in Aberdeen those lucky enough to have outside space have been spending time jet-washing the patio and garden furniture and planting flower beds and tubs. Indeed, Britain’s gardens have probably never looked more beautiful, providing the perfect backdrop for alfresco dining.
In the north of Scotland we enjoy longer, brighter evenings than the rest of the UK and on 20 June, the longest day of the year, the Aberdeen sun will not set until after 10pm. An evening gathered (in a socially distanced manner) under the gazebo or around the fire pit, eating and drinking long into the night, is certainly something to look forward to.
