Springer Nature: A Project That Combines Design, Sustainability, and Well-being

In one of Lisbon’s most iconic locations — the former galleries of the Hotel Ritz Four Seasons — a new concept of workspace was born: Castilho 77 Offices. It was in this iconic setting that Savills’ BPC & Architecture team led the design and construction of Springer Nature’s new office.

With approximately 570 m², Springer Nature’s new Tech Center was developed under the Design & Build model, focusing on well-being, sustainability, and user experience. The project includes an open space, meeting rooms, phone booths, informal zones, a collaborative area on the basement level with games and an informal auditorium, and a kitchen equipped for events.

The space is organized around a central courtyard, where biophilic elements bring greenery and natural light indoors. The choice of sustainable materials, gender-neutral bathrooms, and areas promoting inclusion and flexibility reflect Springer Nature’s values as an ethical and environmentally conscious company. A generous outdoor terrace expands the break area and offers an ideal environment for informal meetings or client receptions.
