Amoreiras and Campo de Ourique

Atop one of Lisbon’s seven hills, there’s a neighbourhood that boasts both housing and offices: Amoreiras. During the day, it’s a business centre; outside office hours, it’s full of families. At the end of the day, Jardim das Amoreiras is a popular meeting point for children and adults alike, where play and conversations abound. There's also plenty of commerce in the area, including the Amoreiras Shopping Center (Lisbon’s first mall), which has everything you need under one roof, from clothes and perfumes to groceries, a dining area, even a cinema.

Properties for sale in Amoreiras and Campo de Ourique

Next door is the family-friendly area of Campo de Ourique, where the poet Fernando Pessoa used to live (there is a house-museum here). If you like the neighbourhood life, this is the place for you. There’s a variety of restaurants keeping hunger at bay, serving breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner. Amongst the newer establishments, old favourites remain, where locals enjoy an atmosphere of bygone times. The neighbourhood also has a thriving high street, with hairdressers, haberdasheries and shops selling fabrics, toys and clothes. Still not convinced? Then try the local market: as classic as it is modern.

And what are the houses like?

Amoreiras has been the focus of several high-end construction projects. The apartments available there often include extras, such as a swimming pool, parking and private outdoor spaces. In Campo de Ourique's prime area, most properties have a garage, balconies and, in some cases, terraces.
