Opportunities for Scottish real estate in a changing world
An audience of property owners, developers, investors, funders and advisers gathered at the voco Grand Central on Wednesday 20th September for Savills annual Scottish Property Outlook event. With the theme of innovation at the forefront of everyone’s mind, Savills had leaders in the field discussing content delving into cross-sector research, with market-research presentations covering planning, retail, offices, development and residential.
David Cobban, Head of Savills Glasgow, said: “Glasgow’s dynamic growth is continuing to drive new demand for its places and spaces, but in order to ensure its ongoing success we need to be able to provide the right real estate to meet the city’s evolving needs.
With this in mind, Savills Scottish Property Outlook highlights the necessity for innovation across all aspects of urban living.
In Glasgow, we’re seeing a cross-sector focus on sustainability in order to make the city a greener place where people want to live and work, along with a desire to deliver real estate to support future growth. This will be key to retaining and attracting new talent from across the globe both from a business and higher education perspective.
However, there are challenges and future success will rely upon collaboration between the public and private sector to develop space within new Government frameworks such as NPF4.”
