Opportunities for Scottish real estate in a changing world
An audience of 400 property owners, developers, investors, funders and advisers gathered at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre (EICC) on Thursday 23rd March for Savills annual Scottish Property Outlook event.
Craig Timney, Head of Savills Edinburgh, said: “The world has changed in the 12 months since our last Outlook here in Scotland’s capital. There has been a change in monarchy, multiple prime ministers and chancellors have come and gone, the cost of borrowing has risen starkly, and we are now in the midst of more political turbulence at Holyrood. In addition, all property sectors are being affected to some degree by NPF4, Scottish Government’s new national spatial strategy, now has now been adopted and aimed at creating more sustainable properties and locations.
“Despite the turbulence, Scotland’s property market continues to be resilient, and Edinburgh, in particular, remains a global city in high demand. Challenges undoubtedly lie ahead, but there will also be exciting opportunities for informed and forward-thinking property professionals to take forward.”
In a series of presentations, Savills experts from right across the real estate spectrum provided insight into what the future holds for Scotland’s commercial and residential markets.
