Since 2015, Savills Tech Cities Programme has examined what the world’s technology talent is looking for in a place to live and work. That talent has recently overwhelmingly favoured some of the world’s most vibrant cities, including some smaller ‘lifestyle’ locations such as Amsterdam, Berlin and Austin. These locations have achieved a global status belying their size, and are competing against ‘megacities’, including London, Shanghai and Paris.
But Covid-19 has led to a reassessment by some about what makes a good place to be.
