Webinar: Savills Tech Cities Programme 2021

Since 2015, Savills Tech Cities Programme has examined what the world’s technology talent is looking for in a place to live and work. That talent has recently overwhelmingly favoured some of the world’s most vibrant cities, including some smaller ‘lifestyle’ locations such as Amsterdam, Berlin and Austin, these locations have achieved a global status belying their size, and are competing against ‘megacities’, including London, Shanghai and Paris.

But Covid-19 has led to a reassessment by some about what makes a good “Tech City”. Now health and wellness are an even greater factor in location decisions.

Paul Tostevin, our Tech Cities programme lead and Director of World Research revealed which cities have made it to the top of our different ‘tiers’ of tech city and what makes them important to the sector. He was then joined by Nicky Wightman, Head of Savills Emerging Trends, James Macdonald, Head of Research at Savills China, and Serge Vayer, Head of Tenant Representation at Savills France for a live Q&A discussion.
