2019 was considered to have delivered the best ever 12 months for office leasing in India for a second successive year. 2020 was expected to create a new record, but the pandemic lead to situations otherwise. However, the office market in the top six cities of the country continued to press hard.

Bengaluru retained its pole position in terms of office absorption and recorded one-third of the total pre-commitments in the country. Hyderabad surged past Delhi NCR, taking the second place.

Delhi NCR maintained its position amongst the top three office markets and  Mumbai witnessed leasing activity in micromarkets of Eastern Suburbs, Thane & Western Suburbs II. Chennai became the only market to register growth in supply and Pune saw some large deals dominating the leasing activity.
