Savills hires experts in cleantech and renewables

International real estate advisor, Savills, has expanded its capabilities across its Energy, Infrastructure and Renewables team, which sits within its Savills Earth division, with new strategic hires. Nick Edgar and David Cunningham will focus on corporate finance, growth capital and project finance, and will provide strategic and financial advisory services to clients in the cleantech and renewables sector.

Nick and David will join Savills as co-heads of Savills Earth Capital Advisors and bring expertise in cleantech and renewables. The duo have over 20 years’ experience each in banking, equity capital markets, consultancy and buyside roles.


With expertise working in large professional practice, as well within an energy focussed finance boutique, Nick has worked buyside in both venture capital in the technology sector, and structured finance in the renewables industry. Working across the funding lifecycle, he has led on deals in growth equity in new technologies through to renewable infrastructure deals with entrepreneurial developers, private equity backed IPPs and working with large institutional investors.


David’s background includes time in the City of London as an Extel rated number one equity analyst in cleantech and renewables, as well as spending nine years advising on large infrastructure deals across wind, solar, battery storage, optimisation strategies, energy efficiency, biomass, biofuels, gridtech and the hydrogen supply chain. David’s techno-economic knowledge will be vital in delivering decarbonisation solutions across the built environment and demand vectors which are critical to meet net zero targets.
