Savills places Avila Spaces in Expo'98 Building

Avila Spaces, one of the most recognised and awarded coworking spaces in Europe, arrives at Expo 98 Building through Savills, in an operation aimed at expanding the company in Lisbon.

The company now occupies a space of 1,059 sq. m, distributed over 2 fractions, and is part of an office building with a central location in the Parque das Nações area.

This new paradigm of the world of work is here to stay and the Portuguese market is no exception. In Portugal, in the post-Covid-19 period, coworking spaces have gained more and more relevance, consolidating their concept in the country and offering greater flexibility, as well as new types of services to companies. Lisbon and Porto already have approximately 150 coworking spaces available, with some already offering hybrid concepts through the integration of coliving spaces.

In a context of growth in the flex office segment at a national level, after having carried out the largest flex office operation in 2022 and also the largest, to date, in 2023, Savills once again concludes an important operation in this segment of the real estate market.

According to Carlos Gonçalves, CEO of Avila Spaces, “the opening of this cowork space in Parque das Nações responds to an increasing need of companies that seek to offer their employees the possibility of working from different areas of the city, in a logic of satellite offices, either because they are close to customers or because they are closer to their homes.”

“Flex offices have seen a remarkable growth in the Portuguese market, a result driven by international companies with ambitious growth plans. This type of market, by offering greater flexibility in terms of operations logistics, plays a key role in the strategy of organisations. The conclusion of this operation is further proof of the dynamics that this market segment has been registering in our country”, points out Luísa Noronha, Offices Senior Consultant at Savills Portugal.
