An investment fund managed by Kristensen Properties has purchased 20 Nrep townhouses on Robert Jacobsens Vej in Ørestad on Amager.

The 20 townhouses have been sold on behalf of Nrep, and the transaction has been handled by Savills Denmark.

The properties, known as Upcycle Studios, consist of 3,440 square meters and 20 townhouses. They were designed by Lendager Arkitekter and built by Nrep in 2018. Upcycle Studios' new owners plan to implement their business model, which includes dividing the townhouses into condominiums with a view to selling them individually in the future.

Unique properties built with recycled materials.

Upcycle Studios is an attractive investment case for buyers as the townhouses are built with extensive use of recycled materials, including 1,000 tons of recycled concrete from the construction of the Copenhagen metro, surplus wood for floors and recycled windows, and electricity and energy from solar cells and heat pumps.

Upcycle Studios is one of Nrep's pioneering real estate projects that we are very proud to have contributed to. The sale of Upcycle is strong proof that well thought-out sustainable construction that supports the current trend for more flexible lifestyles where work and leisure merge naturally is an investment that is also interesting for other progressive players in the market.

The very green approach and focus that has dominated the building has been significant for the buyer in this investment. Jeppe Lynge Larsen, Deputy Director at Kristensen Properties, explains why Upcycle Studios was an ideal investment opportunity for them:

The townhouses are unique in many ways - they are built with 1,000 tons of recycled materials such as windows, Dinesen flooring and concrete, which has saved approximately 45% Co2 compared to conventional construction.

According to Jacob Lund, CEO of Savills Denmark and advisor on the current deal, an investment opportunity like Upcycle Studios is particularly attractive due to the green profile of the properties. This sustainable approach to real estate development is increasingly appealing to both investors and buyers seeking environmentally friendly solutions. The deal also highlights the interest in the market for transactions where sustainability and financial profitability go hand in hand.

Furthermore, Jacob Lund elaborates that the process was executed professionally in a good collaboration with two well-known customers.

We are pleased to have advised on this transaction, where a unique investment opportunity like Upcycle Studios was sold to the right buyer.
