Fulford Street – hammer price £1.5m
This mysterious detached house on the River Thames at Rotherhithe in London sold for its guide price of £1.5m in the early March sale having been offered to the market for the first time in 28 years. The unusual landmark property attracted the attention of bidders as far afield as America and producers here at home who showcased it on the BBC London News.

Grain Tower – hammer price £159,000
Historic towers always seem to capture the imagination and this former gun tower with an iconic No. 1 the Thames, Isle of Grain, address in Kent was no exception. The imposing Grade II listed building sits on a spit of land in the mouth of the River Medway and is accessible via a tidal causeway at low tide. After a flurry of media interest and radio interviews, it created a stir in the September sale selling in excess of its £150,000 guide price.

Water’s Edge – hammer price £2.23m
A substantial detached home with boathouse and direct beach access in historic Flushing, a small village on the banks of Falmouth Harbour, was snapped up over guide price in the late May sale. Trefusis Road is one of the most sought-after roads on the south Cornish coast and built in the Art Deco era of the 1920s, Waters Edge occupies an exceptional south-facing plot and has six bedrooms, four reception rooms and far-reaching harbour views.

Perry Water Tower – hammer price £290,000
A striking concrete water tower which dates back to circa 1950 close to Grafham Water on the fridges of a village in Cambridgeshire sold for more than three times its £90,000 guide price in the early May sale.

Canal Cottage – hammer price £386,000
A two-bedroom canal-side cottage in Croxley Green near Rickmansworth which was in need of renovation sold for over £100,000 more than its £275,000 guide price in the June sale.

Mary Shelley Cottage – hammer price £630,000
Offering a slice of literary history, Shelley Cottage in Marlow sold in the recent December sale. The picturesque Grade II listed town house was formerly the home of authors Mary and Percy Shelley who purchased it in the early 19th century. Mary was inspired to pen her masterpiece Frankenstein while living in the house and it was published when she was just 20 years old. The pretty as a picture abode sold above guide for £630,000.
