From the roaring success of England’s Lionesses and a putting masterclass from Australian Cameron Smith to land the historic 150th Open at St Andrew’s, through to Novak Djokovic’s fourth consecutive Wimbledon title and some of the world’s greatest athletes going for gold in Birmingham – it has been a sensational summer of sport.
And the pace shows little sign of slowing, with the England Cricket team gearing up for three tests against South Africa, the opening few weeks of the domestic football season now underway and Emma Raducanu preparing to defend her US Open tennis title in New York.
The rest of the year promises to be just as exciting, with the climax to the F1 motor racing season, rugby union autumn internationals, rugby league world cup action and the FIFA World Cup to name just a few.
