As we celebrate 100 years of Centre Court on its present site, this year’s Wimbledon is almost guaranteed to inspire the nation once again to dust off its tennis rackets and brush up on some skills.
Private and public courts all over the country will doubtless fill up with budding Emma Raducanus and Andy Murrays. But what is the value in owning a tennis court?
A survey of Savills agents shows that the ability to play at home, a boon during the pandemic, is definitely a draw for would-be-buyers. Two in five agents said that a tennis court is a sought-after amenity, second to a swimming pool. 90 per cent also agreed that a tennis court would add value to a home.
