The lifestyle choices that have driven the housing market since the outbreak of the pandemic have led to prime regional property experiencing its strongest annual price growth in a decade. In the inner and outer commute areas – classified as within 30 minutes and 60 minutes of London – values have risen by 9.1 per cent and 8 per cent respectively.

Many of those who decided to move were families searching for a home with more space and a larger garden within striking distance of the capital. Some eighteen months on and locations an hour from London continue to be popular, particularly as workers return to the office.
