The lifestyle choices that have driven the housing market since the outbreak of the pandemic have led to prime regional property experiencing its strongest annual price growth in a decade. In the inner and outer commute areas – classified as within 30 minutes and 60 minutes of London – values have risen by 9.1 per cent and 8 per cent respectively.
Many of those who decided to move were families searching for a home with more space and a larger garden within striking distance of the capital. Some eighteen months on and locations an hour from London continue to be popular, particularly as workers return to the office.
Best in class homes in well-connected towns and villages that have a fine choice of local amenities and are surrounded by open countryside remain high on buyers’ wish lists. When priced correctly we are continuing to see multiple offers and competitive bidding.
