A celebration of inspirational Georgian design

That Georgian architecture has an important and popular place in our landscape is undeniable. Such is the passion it inspires, annual awards are bestowed to celebrate this distinctive, elegant combination of proportion, symmetry and balance.

The awards are organised by the Georgian Group, an English and Welsh conservation body created to campaign for the preservation of historic buildings and planned landscapes of the 18th and early 19th centuries, and sponsored by Savills. Together we applaud those who have demonstrated the vision and commitment to restore Georgian architecture and settings across the UK as well as to create contemporary buildings in a Georgian context.

The winners were announced yesterday at the RIBA in central London, and the awards were presented by Country Life’s architectural editor, John Goodall.

The finished works are simply stunning and a true reflection of the dedication of those involved. You can find out more about the award winners, as well as the group's projects, from The Georgian Group. Meanwhile, for buyers in search of a Georgian gem to call home, here’s a selection of properties currently available on the market.
