6 of the best...Gardens with statement features

The Vicarage, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire

Once mostly the domain of horticulturalists and children, gardens are now widely viewed as another room; a valuable indoor-outdoor living space for entertaining, socialising and relaxing.

Just as the way we use our gardens has changed, so has the way we access them, the traditional back door replaced by bi-folding doors which allow seamless integration between the interior and the exterior. And with so much of the garden permanently on show, many owners have realised that what their outside space needs is a statement feature: we've seen everything from sculptures and exquisite topiary to 'floating' gardens and loggias.

The statement features in these six outdoor spaces are all very different but guaranteed to draw the eye.
