Wednesday 28 June marks the start of the 2017 Henley Royal Regatta – one of the highlights of the British social season and summer sporting calendar. For five days every year, Henley becomes centre stage for the national and international rowing world, featuring more than 200 races with both Olympians and crews new to the event taking part.

Many Henley residents let their properties to visitors during the regatta, but if you're hoping to buy you might not be so lucky. Riverside properties rarely come up for sale and are in high demand. When they do become available, they can command a premium of around 30 per cent against Henley's non-riverside properties.
