Horseracing is one of the longest established sports in Great Britain and with almost 60 racecourses across the UK, it probably comes as no surprise that it is our second largest spectator sport, generating an incredible £3.7 billion for the British economy every year.
The flat racing season often evokes nostalgic memories of the summer months, but some are lucky enough to have a racecourse on their doorstep all year round. In Yorkshire, for example there are nine racecourses – the highest concentration in the country – and properties within close proximity are becoming increasingly popular amongst buyers.
