Golf at Burhill, Walton-on-Thames
  • Prices from £1.75 million
  • Prices currently up to £5.5 million
  • Average plot: 0.5+ acres

Burwood and Ashley Parks originally formed part of Henry VIII's Hampton Court hunting grounds. By the time they were developed into private estates in the early 20th century, both had enjoyed a string of illustrious owners, including the Guinness family (Burwood Park) and the Sassoons (Ashley Park).

Both parks have a more open feel than some of Surrey's other more heavily gated estates. Burwood is particularly noted for its flora and fauna, boasting one of the oldest oak trees in England and more than 150 species of birds and animals in its woods and parkland. A number of lakes add to its rural feel.

Burwood and Ashley Parks offer easy acces to the capital: journey time to London Waterloo from Walton-on-Thames station, just a short walk from Ashley Park, is from 26 minutes.

Both estates comprise a variety of period and contemporary properties, predominantly appealing to families, with international buyers, heralding from France, Belgium, Russia and China, generally drawn to Burwood Park.
