Semana Santa, or Holy Week, is the most celebrated festival throughout Spain. How you mark the occasion depends on where you live.The north of the country sees more sombre and solemn processions, while towns in Andalucia enjoy the most elaborate and glamorous celebrations – processions, floats, life-size wooden sculptures, religious figures and marching bands accompany the thousands of families who come together in the streets.
