Gallery: 6 of the best...Country home offices

Cedar House, Cornwall

According to the ONS (Office for National Statistics), roughly 4.2 million people, or 14 per cent of the British workforce, now work from home. Thanks to superfast broadband, homeworkers can base themselves practically anywhere in the country: not only do they not need to live in a city or town, many don't need to be within striking distance of either.

Fortunately, these days it’s rare to see a country house, no matter the size, without some sort of study or office. The ideal would be a converted barn or outbuilding with plenty of light, good internet access, views over countryside, somewhere to make a cup of coffee and perhaps even a WC. But a converted bedroom, loft space, or studio all work well, too.

These six properties are all perfect for country homeworkers.
