Love London: Tips for selling property in Sloane Street

Sloane Street selling tips

Knowing your potential buyers is the first step in marketing your property in and around Sloane Street. Here are our top tips for selling your home in Belgravia.

1. First, look at your home through the eyes of potential buyers. It’s important that every room in your home appears as it is intended to be used and presented in the best possible light – bright, clean and clutter free, is the way to go.

2. If your property is in a mansion block, make sure the concierge or porter know about any viewings in advance so that any prospective buyers receive a friendly welcome if they turn up early.

3. Make the best of any period features. Show viewers that you have working shutters and windows, clear spaces around original fireplaces, spruce up the paintwork on cornicing, clean windows and pull back the curtains to show any outside space.

4. If you’re selling a leasehold property, the involvement of an additional management company can mean a more complex and time-consuming sale. Having your solicitor instructed and ready to act once a sale is agreed can speed up the process.

5. If you have a garden or balcony, maximise the space and treat it as another room. Balconies have great appeal for the extra entertaining space and access to winter sunshine, so keep the area tidy and show it at its best.

6. If you’re lucky enough to own a home with access to a communal garden, make sure that this is communicated. Perhaps for viewings, leave a key out so that prospective buyers can take a proper look and appreciate the space.

7. Some international buyers request fully furnished properties which they can easily move in to with little more than a suitcase, so it’s well worth considering this as an option when preparing your property for sale and viewings.
