Renovation of the Coca-Cola Factory in Azeitão: A Modern and Welcoming Space for Employees

Located in Azeitão, in the Setúbal District, lies the only Coca-Cola European Partners (CCEP) factory in Portugal — a site with history that has recently undergone a forward-thinking transformation. CCEP entrusted Savills with the challenge of completely renovating its facilities, with a clear objective: to create a work environment that puts people at the center

With approximately 2,510 m² remodeled — including offices, a cafeteria, and changing rooms — the project focused on providing employees with a daily experience that is more comfortable, modern, and inspiring. The goal was to move away from the cold, industrial feel often associated with factories, and instead bring more life, comfort, and identity to the space.

To achieve this, Savills selected a palette of materials combining neutral tones like greys, whites, and blacks with the warmth of wood and the freshness of greenery, creating a welcoming, elegant environment aligned with Coca-Cola’s vibrant brand identity.

The workspace is predominantly open-plan, with capacity for 104 workstations, including fixed and hot desks, encouraging flexibility and collaboration. Additionally, the project includes meeting rooms, informal zones such as lounges and meeting points, phone booths, print areas, drink centers, and even a rooftop — all designed to balance work, social interaction, and well-being.

This turnkey renovation not only modernizes the Azeitão factory but also transforms how employees experience their day-to-day life, creating a space where innovation, functionality, and comfort go hand in hand.
