Webinar: All change - The future use of UK farmland and by whom?

On Tuesday 18 May 2021, we held a webinar focusing on the future use of UK farmland and by whom? A combination of Brexit and the climate change agenda is beginning to drive rapid change in the use and occupation of land which will escalate over the next few years, leading to urgent debate over strategy.

Where will the changes come, what infrastructure will be needed, will adequate returns result and how will we deal with the future tenure of land to enable landlords to optimise advantages to be taken from natural capital. As we journey towards a world of environmental improvement, what will this mean for farm rents and the value of farmland?

The webinar, chaired by Andrew Harle (Head of Savills Rural) began with a policy update from Emily Norton (Head of Rural Research) before she was joined by Rupert Clark and Faye Gonzalez (Estate Management), Andrew Wraith and Andrew Macdonald (Food & Farming) and Alex Lawson (Farms & Estates Sales) to discuss some of the possibilities for future land use and its occupation.

We hope you enjoy listening to this presentation. If you would like to subscribe to our research or be invited to future webinars and events please contact Ellie Bird.
