Savills has expanded its sustainability team with the appointment of its first climate risk and resilience consultant, Sarah Brayshaw. She joins as an associate director and will be  based at the firm’s Finsbury Circus office in the City of London.

Sarah has more than seven years’ experience in the sustainability sector, specialising in climate risk and resilience. Joining from Deloitte, she supported banking and capital market firms to embed climate risk and ESG into financial decision making processes as part of regulatory requirements. Prior to this, Sarah also worked as a catastrophe risk analyst at Willis Towers Watson, as well as having an academic background in meteorology and climate science from the University of Reading.

At Savills, Sarah will act as the principle climate risk and resilience consultant and will lead the development and delivery of the team’s climate physical risk service line.

Sarah Brayshaw comments: “I am very excited to be joining Savills as part of the sustainability team and wider Savills Earth offer, especially as it has never been more important for businesses to be aware of climate risk. Real estate is part of the solution and I look forward to both reducing climate change impacts, improving resilience and adapting property portfolios in order to make a meaningful impact for those in the sector.”

Tanya Broadfield, head of the sustainability team at Savills, adds: “We are very pleased to welcome Sarah to the firm. Her skillset and expertise will undoubtedly help to further strengthen our capability, and, as the first climate risk and resilience consultant at Savills, she will be able to present exciting new opportunities for our clients.”
