Barata Salgueiro 21 reaches 100 per cent occupancy with the arrival of Pérez-Llorca

The operation advised by the property consultancy marks the arrival of the Spanish law firm in Portugal

Savills has just placed the prestigious Pérez-Llorca law firm in the Barata Salgueiro 21 building, a landmark asset located in the prime area of the Portuguese capital owned by the prestigious property curator Primosfera. The Spanish company will occupy the whole of the building, which has been completely refurbished in a project designed by Manuel Aires Mateus, one of Portugal’s most renowned architects, in partnership with Primosfera.

Located very close to Avenida da Liberdade, in Lisbon, number 21 Rua Barata Salgueiro consists of five office floors and two retail floors, with a total area of 2,422 sq. m, two retail spaces and 22 car parking spaces.

The asset, positioned on the axis that comprises one of the most emblematic streets in the centre of Lisbon, combines its history with the concept of art that is intrinsic to it, with features that preserve its historical and urban context that contrast with its contemporaneity.

Savills’ main objective is to offer innovative property solutions that generate value for both owners and tenants. In this sense, the realisation of this operation solidifies the property’s reputation as a destination of choice for new office space excellence, demonstrating the strategic vision of Pérez-Llorca and Savills with regard to the selection of an iconic location that aligns with the law firm’s global growth objectives.

Gonçalo Capela Godinho, Partner, Pérez-Llorca, emphasises: “The Barata Salgueiro 21 building is the ideal location we were looking for to start our project in Lisbon. Situated in a prime area of the city, like our offices in Madrid, Barcelona, London, New York, Brussels and Singapore, this property will progressively house the team we are building in the Portuguese capital and which will practise law in the country. Savills’ support at the start of this project was fundamental to its success.”

Frederico Leitão de Sousa, Head of Offices at Savills Portugal, said: “With this operation Savills has achieved full occupancy of the prestigious Barata Salgueiro 21 building, including its prime commercial spaces. The asset, with a distinctive and above-average position in the market, is the ideal space to house the headquarters of a large company like Pérez-Llorca in Lisbon. This achievement also reinforces Savills’ experience in identifying AAA tenants for prime real estate assets, creating opportunities for growth and success. Achieving 100 per cent occupancy a month after they entrusted us with the mandate makes us very proud.”
