Regal London adopts innovative launch strategy which helps combat COVID travel restrictions

The rebound of the UK property market during the months of June, July and August has taken everyone somewhat by surprise.  Whilst the analysts at Savills were anticipating a V shaped recovery, the speed and velocity of the recovery has been quite unprecedented.  Activity in London’s prime market has been busier that at any point in the last 5 years, with investors from both Asia and the GCC highly active, despite the travel restrictions and the requirement for anyone entering the UK to quarantine for 2 weeks upon arrival.

Interestingly, the emphasis and motivation of current buyers seems to be fuelled by end user demand, with buyers purchasing homes for their own use or for family members, rather than pure investment. When purchasing for own use, buyers tend to want to visit the development in person and to experience the build quality and finishing.  Recognising that this was likely to be challenging for buyers, given the UK travel considerations, one developer has taken an innovative approach and has created a replica apartment in Dubai for GCC clients to visit and experience the finished product first-hand. 

Regal London, in conjunction with Savills, launched their latest project, One St John’s Wood’ on 15th September from their Dubai office and are hosting private tours of the show apartment which has been created within their offices in Downtown Dubai.  Regal London have paid close attention to every fine detail, importing specific materials and products to ensure that prospective buyers experience the product ‘as is’.  Everything from the flooring, tiles, bathroom fittings, cabinetry, kitchen appliances and even the light fittings are as per the actual apartments. The only element missing is the opportunity for prospective buyers to enjoy the direct views of Lord’s cricket ground and Regents Park that the actual development offers.

The response from our clients has been overwhelmingly positive and it’s fantastic to be able to engage with clients directly after so many months of conducting virtual-viewings.
