In plain English: Corporate Services

While Corporate Services suggests a business-like arrangement or transaction, in the property sector it is concerned with providing very personal support to those who are re-locating to the UK for work and are searching for a place to live.

Ultimately it’s all about helping find people a home for the time they’re here and providing advice on areas that might suit their lifestyle or their family’s needs. Usually a corporate services team will be called upon to help staff working for large global firms across industries like oil, gas, finance, law or media but they're also employed by smaller companies or for individual searches.

The job could mean dealing with a graduate needing an apartment close to the office right through to an executive requiring a large family home in an exclusive part of town. One minute it could involve assisting a diplomat looking for a London home, the next a professor joining one of London’s leading universities who wants to settle in the capital’s fringes for their children’s schooling.

From the moment an individual is scheduled to re-locate, the communication will begin either with them directly or with their firm’s in-house HR team. Early discussions will require asking the right questions to ascertain which location and property will suit them best.

From then the conversation takes in everything from understanding budgets to finding a suitable neighbourhood, recognising what kind of commute they’re open to, assisting with understanding the taxes, explaining contracts, negotiations and everything in between.

It’s the job of a corporate services team to try and help take the stress out of the situation by sorting the home environment so that the transition to living in the UK is as smooth as possible.
