In the Queen’s 90th year, it's reasonable to say that Her Majesty has spent her fair share of time visiting and inhabiting luxurious country estates around the UK.

We take a look through the keyhole of three properties fit for royalty, each with their own fascinating history and magnificent architectural provenance.

Cornbury House, Oxfordshire – To rent £30,000 per month

Cornbury House is a beautiful stone-built Tudor house set in the heart of the Cotswolds. It underwent improvements in the 1630s with the addition of the southern facade by Nicholas Stone for the Earl of Danby, with another facade created in the 1660s by Hugh May for the Earl of Clarendon.

The luxurious country house sits within 13 acres of formal gardens to the west of the house, complete with its own swimming pool, chapel and three-bedroom cottage on its grounds.
