According to Guinness World Records, the biggest ever Easter egg hunt took place in a Florida adventure park in 2007. On that occasion, 9,753 children combed the area for 501,000 eggs.

The annual Easter egg hunt, albeit on a more modest scale, is a custom dating back many centuries. In more recent times, chocolate companies such as Cadbury and Thorntons have instigated their own elaborate versions of the confectionery sleuthing game.

But all you really need is a good-sized garden, clement weather and a generous supply of eggs. These six properties would all be perfect.
