An office fit out is as important as an iconic address

London Skyline

London’s skyline is synonymous with iconic architecture featuring impressive facades. However, as the old adage goes, it’s what’s on the inside that counts. For occupiers, the fit out of their offices is a key part of their corporate global image and their surroundings must be in keeping with the illustrious buildings they occupy.

For companies moving into new offices, there are a number of advantages in undertaking a fit out. Firstly, it offers an opportunity to modernise by, for example, introducing technology into the working environment. An example of this can be seen at One Canada Square where businesses included integrated IT and AV facilities to help seamlessly connect clients and colleagues.

There is currently a strong emphasis on tailoring work spaces to employees' requirements and a new fit out can be key to increasing productivity and performance by maximising the use of free space. Break-out lounges and staff cafés, for example, improve working conditions and can create a more enjoyable office environment.

Another reason to carry out an office fit out is to create a dynamic new look. Having a prestigious address, such as the Walkie-Talkie or the Cheesegrater, is no longer enough. To attract new business and remain relevant you have to look the part, too.

Ultimately, undertaking an office fit out when you move opens up a number of opportunities, from ensuring the happiness and wellbeing of your staff, to creating a modern and attractive new look for your business. Regardless of what floor you’re on, aim high.
