No county in Britain is square. However, such is their diversity - the north differing markedly from the south, the east from the west - that we can often identify significant regions, or ‘corners’, of one county.

Staffordshire, in the West Midlands, is a key example. Cannock Chase is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and popular with walkers and holidaymakers. But the county's easy access to Manchester, Birmingham and East Midlands airports (as well as a fast train to London Euston) also ensures its popularity with businesses and distribution factories.

So before you choose your Staffordshire property, you must first choose your 'corner'. Use our guide to help you.

North Staffordshire

A more rugged landscape than the rest of the county, with excellent access to the Peak District, Stoke-on-Trent and Manchester. The Staffordshire Moorland is home to the highest village in Britain, Flash, standing at 1,518 feet (463m) above sea level, and the area has many heritage properties due to the wealth made in the Potteries.
