Savills expands its natural capital expertise to include ecology

Joe Dance joins Savills as a Director Strategic Ecologist within the Natural Capital team. He will primarily support clients in meeting their Biodiversity Net Gain (BNG) requirements, address habitat loss, and realise opportunities that Local Nature Recovery Strategies will bring.

Based in the Birmingham office, Joe joined Savills from Tyler Grange where he was regional ecology director. Last year he won the national CIRIA 2024 Biodiversity Champion Award, which recognizes an individual who went the extra mile to enhance biodiversity.

Commenting on his appointment, Joe says: “I’m thrilled to join Savills and be a part of such a successful team. As a national new role for the company, I’m looking forward to bringing my previous knowledge and experience to further enrich our environmental impact.”

Jon Dearsley, Head of the Savills Natural Capital team, comments: “We are delighted to welcome Joe to our first ecology focused role. Our clients recognise the importance of actively engaging on environment matters when unlocking value in all its forms from land and property. Joe’s appointment will give us deeper knowledge in this rapidly developing space, identifying solutions more quickly and cost effectively.”
