Savills Supports the “Mother Talks” Project

The project aims to promote inclusion and provide support to the community of caregivers for children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

The Empowering Lab by Savills supported the first in-person edition of the event “Caring is Sharing”, held at the MB4 Office Building. This initiative is part of the “Mother Talks” project, created by two mothers, Sara Gouveia and Andreia Santos, who met during the pandemic. United by the exchange of challenges and strategies for dealing with Autism, they recognized the potential of creating a support space for mothers, fathers, and caregivers of children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), aiming to benefit more people.

“Mother Talks” originated on Instagram, where the founders began hosting live sessions aimed at parents, caregivers, and those interested in Autism advocacy. With the purpose of building a network of support and sharing experiences, these online conversations quickly gained visibility and became a reference for families and caregivers seeking understanding, information, and support. The first edition of this initiative provided a unique opportunity for participants to gather and share their stories and personal insights in person, reinforcing the project’s motto: “Caring is Sharing”.

The Empowering Lab by Savills is a pioneering initiative dedicated to mental health and workplace well-being. Savills has fostered an organizational culture that prioritizes the holistic well-being of its team, reflecting the natural evolution of a labor market increasingly guided by ESG principles. The Empowering Lab by Savills is built on four key pillars — “to listen,” “to empower,” “to challenge,” and “to collaborate” — and aims to promote a workplace culture based on freedom, autonomy, responsibility, and collaboration. The project includes various events throughout the year, such as workshops and masterclasses, focusing on everyday topics like stress management, communication, time and conflict management, nutrition, sleep, and physical activity.

Pedro Santos, Head of Talent Management & Mental Health at Savills Portugal, highlights:“Savills is proud to be part of this inspiring project. We are aware of the impact that ‘Mother Talks’ is having on the lives of so many families and caregivers. Supporting initiatives like this is part of our social responsibility strategy. We aim to help create spaces where sharing and mutual support are constant, promoting inclusion and the well-being of our community.”

Sara Gouveia, co-founder of the project, comments:“Initiatives like ‘Mother Talks,’ which aim to support and inform families about Autism and parental self-care, become possible thanks to the commitment and social responsibility of companies that choose to be part of this movement. When a company supports events that promote well-being and education, it is directly investing in the transformation of society.”
