Savills Michaela Semanová awarded leading female property professional of the year at the CIJ Awards

On 29 November 2018, Michaela Semanová, Director of Property Management at Savills in the Czech & Slovak Republics, became the first ever winner of a new category, Leading Female Property Professional, at the CIJ Awards 2018.

The CIJ Awards, which were first held in 2001, are the longest-running commercial property awards in the Czech Republic and have become a benchmark in the sector highlighting the best initiatives which have been carried out in the real estate industry throughout the year, as well as recognising a wide range of managerial personalities. The 18th edition of the CIJ Awards attracted a total of 100 nominations in 27 different categories, with the winners chosen by a combination of jury meetings and online voting.

Michaela is one of the first women working in the Czech real estate industry and started her career as a project manager at BB Centrum – one of the first office developments in Prague. She gained further experience as a General Manager of TK Development’s subsidiary – Euro Mall Centre Management Czech Republic (now CBRE) and later as Head of Asset Management for Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria of ING Real Estate Investment Management. In early 2011, she and her colleague Martina Bartek established the property management company SB Property Services, a.s. (SBPS). Over the course of just seven years, the company won instructions from both local and international clients and built a team of 25 staff managing 185,000 sq m (1,991,323 sq ft) of property with a value of over EUR 400 million. In November 2017 Savills bought SBPS and Michaela retained an important senior director position in Savills in the Czech & Slovak Republics.

Ben Maudling, CEO of Savills Czech & Slovak Republics, comments: “Michaela was up against some strong competition so this is a great achievement. The award reflects Michaela’s outstanding achievements over a 20 year career in the Czech property industry. She is one of the best, most high profile and popular property managers in the market and is also highly regarded as a leader and business woman.”
