Each summer, Guernsey’s calendar bursts into life with one of its most cherished events: The North Show and Battle of Flowers.
Organised by the Northern Agricultural and Horticultural Society and taking place in Saumarez Park on Wednesday and Thursday this week (20 and 21 August), the vibrant celebration showcases the island’s finest agricultural traditions and horticultural splendour.
From prized livestock and fresh produce, to passionate amateurs displaying their finest fruit, vegetables and floral arrangements, the two-day event is a showcase of Guernsey’s rural heritage.
The highlight comes on the afternoon of the second day with The Battle of Flowers – a procession of exquisitely decorated floats that culminates in a lively parade and firework display.
